Dr Li Suzhi, a military surgeon, also known as the "Menba General" (translated to mean 'general practitioner' in Tibetan) visited and gave medical advice to local residents and monks on Oct 27, 2012 in Maizhokunggar and Dagze county, Lhasa, Tibet autonomous region. Dr Li was warmly welcomed by the general public.

As a military surgeon, visiting patients by trekking around borders, rural and pastoral areas has become routine in his daily life.

"As a doctor and also a senior member of the Communist Party, to practice my medical skills to support and help Tibetan compatriots is my duty and glory," Dr Li said.
