PLA Air Force presents flower basket to Memorial Wall

The officers and men of the Air Force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) solemnly presented flower basket to the Memorial Wall of the Air Force Heroes in the Chinese Aviation Museum on November 6, 2012 to commemorate the 63rd founding anniversary of the PLA Air Force and to memorize the ancestors and martyrs who devoted their lives in the construction cause of the PLA Air Force.

The flower-basket presenting ceremony began in front of the Memorial Wall of the Air Force Heroes in the Chinese Aviation Museum located in Changping District of Beijing at 10:00. In the melody of March of the Volunteers, Ma Xiaotian, commander of the PLA Air Force, and Tian Xiusi, political commissar of the PLA Air Force, led 500-plus representatives of the Air Force officers and men to stand respectfully in front of the Memorial Wall.

Since the completion of the Memorial Wall of the Air Force Heroes in 2009, the PLA Air Force has held flower-basket presenting ceremony every year. The Memorial Wall consists of the hero-and-model wall and the hero-and-martyr wall with the names of 262 heroes and models who made significant contributions as well as 1,747 pilots and aircrews who sacrificed their lives in the construction cause of the PLA Air Force.
