PLA delegation for 18th CPC National Congress formed

The set-up meeting for the delegation of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) to attend the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) was held on the morning of November 7, 2012. The delegates unanimously elected Guo Boxiong the head of the PLA delegation, Xu Caihou, Fan Changlong and Xu Qiliang deputy heads of the PLA delegation, and Zhang Yang the secretary general of the PLA delegation.

Xu Caihou chaired the set-up meeting. At the meeting, Xu Caihou briefed the audience the 251 delegates from across the PLA and the 6 delegates specially invited by the CPC Central Committee as well as the distribution and composition of the delegates. Xu Caihou also chaired the election of the delegation heads.

Guo Boxiong spoke at the meeting. He asked all the delegates to fulfill their sacred duties, actively offer proposals, correctly exercise their rights and successfully complete various tasks assigned by the congress.
