High-tech anti-missile weapons exhibited

The dynamic simulation demonstration of the defense confrontation system at the exhibition area of the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC) vividly reappeared the whole process from target acquisition to successful interception of China's independently-developed high-tech advanced air-defense anti-missile weapon during the 9th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition.

The defense confrontation system developed by the CASIC is a quick-response confrontation system combining the functions of reconnaissance and attack which adapts to modern war situations. It can integrate guided missiles and other combat strength within 500 kilometers in length and breadth to realize joint detection, joint defense and joint attack against the air, sea and land. It has the capability of multi-layer defense and multi-wave attack.

On the air show site, visitors can also see real FD-2000, China's third-generation air-defense missile independently developed by the CASIC. As an outstanding missile in China's third-generation medium-and-high altitude, medium-and-long range air-defense missile weapon system, FD-2000 has the capability for carrying out all-weather regional air-defense operations. The missile can intercept precision-guided weapons as well as jet aircraft, armed helicopter and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
