No Myanmar military jet entered Chinese territory

China's air force issued a statement on Saturday saying no jets from Myanmar entered Chinese territory. The statement came in response to reports that Myanmar's fighter jets had mistakenly entered China after armed conflict broke out between the government military and the Kachin Independence Army.

China's air force has tightened surveillance over territorial airspace along the border since the conflict began. The closest military jets in Myanmar are five kilometers away from the border.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying confirmed on Friday that three shells landed in China a week ago during the conflict. Hua said China demands Myanmar immediately take effective measures to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
