China's navy exercises in South China Sea

A unit of the East China Sea Fleet of the Chinese People's Liberation Army has lately conducted a reconnaissance exercise to improve the unit's capacity of carrying out tough tasks.

The unit patrolled the Xisha island groups, including Xi Shazhou, Yongxing and other reefs. The soldiers have also taken exercises on anti-pirates and interception tasks. The unit sailed into the South China Sea on Sunday, has exercised fighting against air army and navy.

On the following days, they will take drills on combining fighting.
