Chang Wanquan meets with Zambian guest

Chang Wanquan, state councilor and minister of national defense of the People's Republic of China (PRC), met with the visiting delegation led by Paul Mihova, Zambian army commander, on the afternoon of May 22 in Beijing.

Chang Wanquan stated Zambia is a good friend and a good partner of China in Africa. The friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries have been always developing in a steady and healthy way since the diplomatic ties was established 49 years ago, as evidenced by the mutual understanding and mutual support on issues involving each other's core interests and major concerns between the two countries.

He noted the Chinese and Zambian militaries have maintained a long-term friendly cooperation and will continue the high-level reciprocal visits, expand personnel exchange, enhance pragmatic cooperation, build closer relations between the two militaries so as to make new contributions to further deepening of the friendly cooperative relations between China and Zambia.

Mihova spoke highly of Zambia-China traditional friendship and the fruitful cooperation between the two countries. He expressed that the Zambian side attaches great importance to its relations with China, and firmly pursues and supports the one-China policy. The Zambian military is willing to make joint efforts with the Chinese counterpart to constantly expand the friendly cooperation in various fields between the two militaries and push their relationship to a new high.
