Qi Jianguo holds talks with Ukraine's first deputy DM

Qi Jianguo, deputy chief of general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), held talks with Oleksandr Oliynyk, the visiting first deputy minister of defense of Ukraine, on the afternoon of May 27, 2013 in Beijing.

Qi Jianguo expressed that the smooth development of the relations between China and Ukraine has laid a solid foundation for the friendly cooperation between the Chinese and Ukrainian militaries. In recent years, high-ranking officers of the two militaries have maintained regular contacts, the personnel training has achieved remarkable results and the professional exchanges have become increasingly close. The Chinese side is willing to work together with the Ukrainian side to further strengthen the exchanges and cooperation at various levels and in various fields between the two militaries, so as to constantly push forward the friendly and cooperative relations between the two militaries.

Oliynyk said that the frequent high-level contacts between the two militaries have contributed to solving the substantial problems arising from the bilateral cooperation. The Ukrainian side is willing to make joint efforts with the Chinese side to deepen the pragmatic cooperation and uplift the level of cooperation between the two militaries.
