China's Central Military Commission has revised its regulation on travel expenses which stipulates that army commanders could only stay in junior suites in hotels.
The regulation stipulates that each regiment level army officer can stay in one standard hotel room by him or herself from now on instead of sharing the room with another officer.
Soldiers who are conscripted are eligible to travel on high speed trains, according to the regulation.
The new policy rules that excessive expenses for food or hotel rooms will not be reimbursed by the military and those who violate the policy shall be punished.
