An unidentified fighter plane made a forced landing at the Yinchuan Hedong International Airport, in Yinchuan, capital of northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, resulting in a temporary closure of the airport and multiple flights were affected, according to the coverage by several media the other day.
In response, the PLA Daily released more details on its official micro blog on September 1, 2014 that, according to relevant military departments, a Kazakhstani SU-27 fighter jet suffered a mechanical failure when a fighter formation of Kazakhstan flew back to Kazakhstan on August 30 after the "Peace Mission-2014" joint military exercise in China, and the fighter formation safely landed at the alternate airport in Yinchuan according to the emergency plan of the exercise.
