A peak into China's 1st infantry battalion to S. Sudan

China has been engaging in UN peacekeeping missions for the past two decades, building a stronger army and taking on international responsibilities.

China has joined in over 20 missions and sent over 30,000 personnel.

Last year there was a breakthrough. China announced it would send 700 strong infantry battalion to South Sudan. Initial group of 180 troops have left in January, and the remaining will depart in March.

The video visits the training camp in Shandong, as the soldiers share their view of the PLA in the 21st century.
