2012-03-21 09:35 Xinhua     Web Editor: Xu Aqing comment

Vice Premier Wang Qishan on Tuesday said he is confident about the future of Sino-U.S. relations and called for closer dialogue and cooperation between the two countries.

Wang made the appeal during a meeting with some U.S. members of a directing board on a research project of China-U.S. economic ties in the next decade.

"The relations between our two countries are increasingly mature," Wang told the U.S. guests including former Minister of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez.

Wang urged the two sides to objectively review the nature of Sino-U.S. economic ties with figures and facts, and to avoid politicizing economic issues.

He proposed that the two countries improve communication and cooperation at various levels, including in the business circle, at local level and grass-roots level.

Gutierrez spoke highly of China's development in recent years, and pledged further efforts to contribute to the sound development of bilateral economic ties.
