Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu and Montenegrin Prime Minister Igor Luksic have agreed to build on the traditional friendship between the two nations and push their cooperation to a higher level.
The two sides reached the consensus during their meeting here March 30. Hui told his Montenegrin host the bilateral friendship was deep-rooted and had developed smoothly in recent years.
He said the two nations understood and supported each other on their major concerns, thus laying a solid political foundation for their pragmatic cooperation in various sectors.
Hui said that China was glad Montenegro had achieved both political stability and economic development since it became independent.
China was ready to work with Montenegro to consolidate their mutual political trust, deepen practical cooperation and exchanges between their governments and enterprises, and promote bilateral ties in a comprehensive way.
Luksic said Montenegro was committed to continuously deepening its comprehensive cooperation with China, and Chinese firms were welcome to invest and participate in the development of the energy, harbors, highways, tourism, and service sectors of his country.
He hoped the existing bilateral economic cooperation mechanism would unleash more potential.
On the same day, Hui also met Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister Vujica Lazovic and they later witnessed the signing of a series of bilateral cooperation agreements.
