Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra will pay an official visit to China from April 17 to 19 at the invitation of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Weimin made the announcement Wednesday at a regular press briefing.

Chinese leaders will meet with Yingluck or hold talks with her to discuss bilateral ties as well as international and regional issues of common concern, said the spokesman.

The two countries are expected to ink a series of agreements, Liu said.

China is the largest export market and second largest import source of Thailand. According to Chinese Customs statistics, China-Thailand trade volume hit 64.7 billion US dollars in 2011.
