China reiterates commitment to denuclearization of Korean Peninsula

2012-04-27 13:39 Xinhua     Web Editor: Su Jie comment

China on Thursday again stated its firm commitment to the denuclearization process on the Korean Peninsula.

"We hope all relevant sides will keep calm, exercise restraint and do more things conducive to the peace and stability on the peninsula," Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Weimin said at a regular press conference.

Liu made the remarks amid speculation that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) might soon conduct its third nuclear test after a failed rocket test on April 13.

"On the situation on the peninsula, China has kept close communication with the DPRK and other relevant sides," he said.
