In recent years, the China-Germany relationship is taking its place in the front ranks of the China-EU relations, leading the development of China-EU relations.
Firstly, both sides gradually strengthened their mutual political trust, with the leaders having a good communication with each other.
Secondly, both sides increased their economic and trade relations. In recent years, Germany has been being China's largest trade partner and the source of foreign capital and technology in Europe.
Thirdly, both sides have many in common: Both had a good economic performance during the global financial crisis and are the major exporters in the world; both emphasize the industrial entities and have higher savings rates; both value the fiscal discipline and disagree with living beyond their means. Therefore, the two countries have a same or similar position in many international economic issues.
Just because of this, China and Germany deepened their cooperation, which also attracted much attention from the international community especially the EU. Thanks to the important role of Germany in the EU, the China-Germany relationship has a decisive status in the China-EU relations. The healthy China-Germany relationship also, to a great extent, ensured the maturity and stability of China-EU relations.
As long as continuing to keep mutual respect, equal dialogue and mutual benefit, the China-Germany relationship will have a larger space of development, which is beneficial to both sides and also to the China-EU relations as China-Germany relationship is setting an example, leading the China-EU relations to become deeper, more sustainable and stable.
