A televised conference on Tuesday saw calls for key publications of the Communist Party of China (CPC) to be improved and issued smoothly ahead of the upcoming 18th CPC National Congress.
The publications include People's Daily, the CPC flagship newspaper, and Qiushi (Seeking Truth), the CPC flagship magazine, as well as Guangming Daily and Economic Daily.
According to the conference, the publications have provided spiritual impetus for the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristic, and are called on to further innovate and improve marketing in order to attract more readers and bring about more social influence.
Moreover, related organs such as press departments and postal sectors should strengthen supervision over subscriptions.
The CPC national congress will start on Nov. 8 and elect a new Party leadership.
