Liu Yunshan, publicity chief of the Communist Party of China (CPC), said on Friday China's media organizations are willing to work with other developing countries to deepen media cooperation.
He made the remark while meeting with more than 10 officials from the information and culture departments of foreign developing countries. The officials are in China to attend a seminar hosted by the State Council Information Office.
Liu, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the CPC Central Committee's Publicity Department, said it will be of great significance for developing countries to cement media cooperation.
Liu said Chinese media organizations will work with other developing countries to deepen media cooperation through improving relevant mechanism and expanding exchanges, to create an international public opinion environment which is favorable for consolidating friendship between developing countries and safeguarding the common interests of developing countries.
Pakistan's Information and Broadcasting Minister Ahmad Rashid said the delegates expect to gain a greater understanding of China and promote media cooperation through their visit.
The delegates will also visit central China's Hubei Province during their stay in China.
