China strongly condemns recent car bombings in Syria and opposes all forms of terrorism, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said Thursday.
Hong made the remarks at a regular press briefing while commenting on a series of blasts that caused many casualties in a suburb of Damascus, the Syrian capital, on Wednesday.
China urged relevant parties in Syria to implement the consensus on the peaceful resolution of the Syria issue reached by the international community and to stop all acts of violence, the spokesman said.
China hopes Syria can commence a political dialogue and promote a political transition led by the Syrian people soon so as to restore peace and stability in the country at an early date, Hong said.
