A high-speed passenger liner across the Taiwan Strait has carried more than 100,000 people since it began operation last November, the spokesman said Wednesday.

The liner links the city of Taichung in Taiwan and Pingtan county in Fujian Province in the mainland.

A high-speed passenger liner running across the Taiwan Strait has carried more than 100,000 people since it began operation last November.

The liner named Haixia, links the city of Taichung in Taiwan and Pingtan county in Fujian Province on the mainland. The journey takes tourists just two and a half hours. The Haixia also transports cargoes since June this year.

Spokesman for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office Yang Yi, said the passenger liner has played a constructive role in facilitating cross-Strait travels and improving exchanges.
