Kyrgyzstan hopes the 11th prime ministers' meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) would help enhance cooperation among the member states, a Kyrgyz political analyst has said.

Kyrgyzstan expects the SCO countries will have effective discussions of the most important issues at the meeting slated for Dec. 4-5 and then take necessary steps to enhance cooperation, Kubanychbek Taabaldiyev, director of the Kyrgyz national news agency, told Xinhua.

"The SCO plays a very important role in Euroasia as it aims to unite the developing countries for further peaceful development and economic growth," he said.8 "China has played a huge role in the organization from the very beginning and continues to strengthen it," he said.

The SCO, which groups China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, has gradually grown into an influential international organization, he said.

The fact that many countries are interested in the SCO membership proves its high authority, he said.

The SCO now focuses on economic issues and is not limited in economy and trade, he said, adding that all member states are among the most active fighters against terrorism.

The expert believed that gaining economic power by some countries will certainly have a positive impact on other member countries.

If the SCO countries could find suitable ways of cooperation, they will certainly go on the road of economic growth, which will further strengthen ties between the countries, he said.

Interpenetration in trade and economy between SCO members is still unbalanced, which means there is great potential for them in economic cooperation in the future, he said.
