Top Chinese political advisor Jia Qinglin left Palermo on Monday morning for Costa Rica after wrapping up an official goodwill visit to Italy.
During his visit, Jia met with Italian President Giorgio Napolitano, Prime Minister Mario Monti, Senate President Renato Schifani, Chamber of Deputies President Gianfranco Fini and Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi.
Jia, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), exchanged views with his Italian hosts on how to further advance bilateral cooperation.
Italy was the first leg of Jia's three-nation tour which will also take him to Costa Rica and Argentina.
