China has made representations to Myanmar after three bombs dropped into Chinese territory in the border areas during recent armed conflicts in northern Myanmar.
"The Chinese side demands the Myanmar side immediately take effective measures to prevent similar incidents from happening again," Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying told a regular news briefing Friday.
She confirmed that three bombs dropped inside China on the evening of Dec. 30, 2012 during the armed conflicts between the Myanmar military and the Kachin Independence Army.
That caused no casualties in China, she said.
There has been no influx of Myanmar's border residents into Chinese territory, authorities of southwest China's Yunnan Province that borders Myanmar said Friday.
"The issue in northern Myanmar is Myanmar's internal affair," Hua said.
"The Chinese side hopes that the Myanmar government can properly deal with the issue with relevant party through peaceful negotiation and maintain the tranquility and stability in the China-Myanmar border areas," she said.
