The Chinese government on Friday welcomed the second round of National Consensus Dialogue between the Bahrain government and political societies.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said that China aspires achieving the success of the National Consensus Dialogue in order to consolidate the foundations of national unity, security and stability for long-term development in Bahrain.
It is noteworthy that the dialogue starts on Sunday and will be held three times a week.
The Bahraini Minister of State for Information Affairs and Government Spokesperson Sameera Rajan told Chinese channel CCTV that the second round of dialogue that coincides with the Chinese New Year on February 10 and would focus on national agreement on some political issues and finding solutions for them within the constitutional and legal framework that would stop further violence and terrorism.
Representatives from different political societies including the largest opposition group Al Wefaq National Islamic Society will be taking part in the talks, that will be attended by members from parliament and Shura (Consultative) Council.
The talks will continue until parties reach consensus on political issues, which will be forwarded to the government for necessary implementation.
