China will continue to make constructive efforts to advance peaceful negotiations regarding the Iranian nuclear issue, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said Tuesday.
Hua made the remarks when asked at a regular press briefing to comment on China's expectations regarding the evolution of the Iranian nuclear issue following the election of Hassan Rouhani as Iran's president.
Hua said pushing dialogue forward is the only way to reach a long-term and proper resolution for the issue.
The Chinese side expects Iran and the P5+1 countries, namely the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany, to stay on the track of dialogue and negotiation and hold a new round of talks as soon as possible, she said.
Hua expressed hope that the parties concerned will properly address their differences, seek practical and feasible resolutions and make progress to this end as soon as possible.
