President Xi Jinping praised the state of China-Africa cooperation on Wednesday, calling on both sides to remain sincere partners.
"China and Africa share a common destiny and bilateral cooperation has huge potential for growth," Xi said while meeting visiting Sierra Leone President Ernest Bai Koroma.
Xi also recalled his visit to Africa in March, noting that he felt "vigor" and "hope" in Africa during his trip.
Xi said China is willing to step up cooperation with Sierra Leone and create more opportunities for the stimulation of bilateral cooperation.
Xi said China will support Sierra Leone's national development in the areas of culture, education and public health, vowing to encourage Chinese companies to become further engaged in the country's infrastructure construction, mining, telecommunication and agriculture.
He said he hopes Sierra Leone will protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies and create a stable and favorable environment for bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
Koroma said he appreciated Xi's visit to Africa, adding that both sides respect and support each other and have cooperated in many areas.
Sierra Leone appreciates China's support and help, Koroma said, adding that his country is committed to expanding cooperation with China, improving local conditions for investment and welcoming more Chinese companies to develop their business in Sierra Leone.
