Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Hua Chunying said in Beijing on Monday the "joint activities" by the Philippines and Vietnam on one of China's Nansha Islands were a clumsy farce.
Philippine and Vietnamese military personnel on Sunday held an exchange of information and sports activities on Nanzi Island in the South China Sea, illegally occupied by the Vietnamese side. The Philippine troops were based on the nearby Beizi Island, one of the largest atolls of the Nansha Islands illegally occupied by The Philippines.
Hua told a daily press briefing that China holds indisputable sovereignty over the Nansha Islands and adjacent waters.
"We demand the Philippines and Vietnam to stop stirring up quarrels and troubles, strictly abide by the Declaration of Conducts of all parties in the South China Sea and not complicate or spread the disputes," she said.
