Chinese President Xi Jinping's upcoming visit to Tajikistan is important for the two countries to advance comprehensive mutually beneficial cooperation, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Cheng Guoping said at a news briefing on Tuesday.
Cheng said as a friendly neighbor, Tajikistan is an important partner to deter the "three evil forces" of terrorism, separatism and extremism, and to build the Silk Road Economic Belt.
Cheng said bilateral ties had developed well since they were established 22 years ago.
During his visit to Tajikistan, Xi will hold talks with President Emomali Rahmon and meet with Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda and Lower House Speaker Shukurjon Zuhurov.
According to Cheng, the two leaders will sign a series of documents which will deepen strategic partnership and plan the development of bilateral relations for the next five years.
