China on Friday lauded Pakistan's efforts to establish a national counter-terrorism plan.
"China is against terrorism in any form. China firmly supports Pakistan in the implementation of its anti-terrorism strategy in accordance with its own national situation, and welcomes its national anti-terror plan," said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying.
The leaders of Pakistan's main political parties on Wednesday attended a landmark meeting convened by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, on terrorism measures, including the establishment of special courts to expedite the trials of terror suspects.
On Dec. 16, a Taliban attack killed 150 people, including 134 children, in the northwestern city of Peshawar.
"China will continue to provide assistance to Pakistan in its efforts to counter terrorism and safeguard its national security," Hua said.
