800-year-old ancient tree unearthed in Jiangxi (4/5)

An ancient tree, with a length of 20 meters and an estimated weight of 80 tons, is discovered at Dongshan Village of Xigang Town in Xiushui County of east China’s Jiangxi province on September 3, 2013. According to an expert from the local forestry department, the tree is about 700 to 800 years old and it has been buried in the ground for at least 500 years. [Photo/Huang Yiwei]
