Villagers work in a salt pan in Naxi nationality township of Markam county of Qamdo Prefecture, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, March 9, 2014. Markam county is known as a place with rich salt resources. By far, there are some 3,454 salt pans on cliff slopes and riverside in Naxi to evaporate brine in the sun with an ancestral technique since Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD). With a large amount of yearly output of salt products, salt-production has become a main income for local people.
