The living environment of the panda house in Zhengzhou Zoo of Henan province doesn't meet the conditions to raise a panda with potential risks of infectious diseases, according to a recent assessment made by experts from the State Forestry Administration. The only panda "Longsheng" in the zoo will be taken back by the China Research and Conservation Center for the Giant Panda, the local forestry department said. Earlier last month, a seven-year-old female panda "Jinyi" died at Zhengzhou Zoo. Bacteria and toxoplasma infection — which involves parasites in blood and body tissue — caused the death of the female giant panda, according to the findings of a month-long investigation.
