Red beach (Honghaitan) in Panjin, northeast China's Liaoning province, is a national-level 4A scenic zone. It is famous for well-preserved and large-scale wetland. This area is home to hundreds of thousands of 260 species of birds. It is the main breeding ground for West Indian whistling duck. Red-crowned cranes also settle here. Suaeda glauca is the main plant in this area. It starts to grow in April every year and turns from light red to dark red then to purple in September. (Photo/People's Daily Online)
