A bird carcass is seen on beach of a lake near Ordos, North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Local people said tens of thousands of rare birds which inhabited the lake were dying of disease believed to be caused by industrial pollution in the past few years. The former soda lake has been turned into a sewage pool since 2004 when several chemical factories were set up in nearby industrial park. [Photo/ Weibo account of The Beijing News]
