Residents buy fishes raised by a team led under retired professor Lin Zailiang on the Meiqi Reef in South China Sea in Fuzhou, East China’s Fujian province, Feb 10, 2015. Since 2007, Lin has led three relatives and nine fishermen from Pingtan county to raise fish on the reef, 1,000 kilometers away from Sanya city in Hainan province. For three years in a row, Lin brought fishes to sell in Fuzhou before the Spring Festival, China’s Lunar New Year. More than 3.5 tons of fishes, which win the reputation of ”patriotic fishes,” were sold out in less than two hours. [Photo: China News Service/Liu Kegeng]
