A Hong Kong man is caught for attempting to smuggle 146 iPhones into the Chinese mainland by strapping the devices to his body in Shenzhen, South China’s Guangdong province, March 6, 15. The man’s odd gait and posture aroused suspicion of customs officials who later found iPhones strapped to his body with duct tape and plastic wrap. A later investigation shows the offender was caught four times since 2011 for smuggling 511 cell phones and 127 computer CPUs. The smartphones retail for a lower price in Hong Kong than in the mainland, making Shenzhen a hotspot for smuggling. In the past two months this year, Shenzhen customs agents have busted 23 cases with electronics strapped to smuggler’s bodies.(Photo/people.com.cn)
