Researchers catch a cowfish on the Poyang Lake, east China's Jiangxi Province, March 19, 2015. Cowfish, the only hydrophilous mammal in the Yangtze River, is facing extinction as there are only about 1,000 left in China and is reducing at a rate of 13.7% each year. To call for protection of cowfish, the Ministry of Agriculture has started a program recently. As part of the program, researchers began to choose 8 cowfishes in Poyang Lake and change their habitat to nature reserves in Hubei and Hunan Provinces from March 19. (Xinhua/Zhou Mi)
