Yu Fangze uses straws to make a dragon in Hukou county, East China’s Jiangxi province. It took the 70 year old and his daughter four months to weave the dragon out of 83,600 pieces of straw. The dragon has 11 parts, is 27.8 meters long and weighs 35 kilograms. Yu is a state-recognized expert in straw dragon making, which is a national level intangible cultural heritage.
