Rescuers in Yueyang of central China's Hunan Province take speedboats to search for survivors of the passenger ship overturned in the Jianli section of the Yangtze River in neighboring central China's Hubei Province on June 2, 2015. The ship, named Dongfangzhixing, or Eastern Star, sank at around 9:28 p.m. (1328 GMT) on Monday after being caught in a cyclone in the Jianli section of the Yangtze River. Carrying 406 passengers, five travel agency workers and 47 crew members, the ship was heading from Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province, for southwest China's Chongqing Municipality. The maritime rescue center in Yueyang received an alarm call from the crew of another boat who saw two people in the water at 10:10 p.m (1410 GMT) Monday. The center immediately sent a patrol boat and the two were picked up at 11:51 p.m (1551 GMT). Currently more than 1,700 rescuers from Yueyang are engaged in searching and rescue work.
