An overpass in Dazhou city, Sichuan Province costing 9 million yuan has been rarely used by locals since it was opened. People would rather jaywalk through heavy traffic than take the overpass. Locals have said the overpass' stairs are too steep and are not user-friendly. Instead, residents have suggested that the government install roadblocks on the street and make the overpass wheelchair accessible.
