Former Prime Minister of Japan Yukio Hatoyama prays for Korean independence activists on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 in front of a monument on the former site of a prison in Seoul where they were interned. At the museum, on the site of a prison where Korean activists against Japanese colonial rule of the Korean Peninsula were interned, Hatoyama took off his shoes in front of a monument for them, laid flowers, knelt down, joined his hands in prayer and bowed his head.
