A folk art museum, designed by renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, has opened in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province on Sept. 20. The China Academy of Art project is committed to conserving, revitalizing and regenerating Chinese arts and crafts by collecting, showcasing and researching traditional cultural pieces and their design philosophies. An exhibition about Chinese rural art was held as an opening show and featured 100 types of seating and more than 1,000 shadow puppets from Jiangnan, south of the Yangtze River.
