High-speed railway: On December 26, 2014, the Lanzhou-Xinjiang high-speed railway opened to traffic. According to China Railway, by the end of 2014, along with a number of new lines in operation, China's railway mileage reached 112,000 km and operating mileage of high-speed railway reached 16,000 kilometers, ranking first in the world.
