A man without a homeland will find his spiritual life devoid of something important and the beacon in his heart extinguished. Men always have a strong affinity for their homelands and the photographer Wang Yingchao makes no exception. For Wang, Shaanxi Province is not only one of the birthplaces of Chinese nation, but a large expanse of land he cares about. An impulse of taking pictures and showing commoners' joys and pains and housings, food, clothes and other necessities and comforts of life hits him from time to time. Thus, Wang wanders about his homeland and uses his camera to record the joys, warmth and touching moments in commoner's life. He is devoted to looking life in the face, taking pictures of moments of life in Shaanxi. Taking pictures might be his way of expressing a strong attachment to his homeland.
