Dense fog shrouds the Slender West Lake in Yangzhou city, East China’s Jiangsu Province, Dec. 21, 2015. Fog reduced visibility to 500 meters in the city and also added a charm to the lake, a famous tourist attraction. The purpose to use “Slender” to describe the lake is to contrast it with the West Lake of Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, one of Jiangsu’s neighbor provinces, by emphasizing that the lake is narrower but longer, like a slender and tall beauty.
