China recently released high definition true color photos taken on the lunar surface by "Chang'e 3", a lunar lander, and the Yutu rover. In December 2013, China joined the ranks of Russia and the U.S. when its Yutu rover successfully soft-landed on the lunar surface, becoming the third country ever to accomplish this feat. The landing of Yutu rover marks the first soft-landing on the moon in 37 years since the Russians landed their Luna 24 in 1976.
