A seal bearing the characters jingtian qinmin — which translates as “revere heaven and serve thy people” — is displayed at a preview of an auction to be held in Hong Kong on April 6. The seal will be auctioned with a starting price of HK$50 million. The seal was carved for the Kangxi Emperor who ruled for 61 years from 1661 to 1722, China’s longest reigning monarch, during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). (Photo/Agencies)
