The Antarctic Bright Star Survey Telescope (BSST) has been put into official use at the Antarctic Zhongshan Station, according to sources at the Nanjing Institute of Astronomical Optics and Technology (NIAOT), Chinese Academy of Sciences on April 6, 2016. BSST, a unique and powerful telescope, has captured the image of the bright constellation Tucana. The telescope will be used for surveying exoplanets in a relatively large sky area around the South Celestial Pole, such as looking for habitable exoplanets.
