Liu Fuzhong, 72, rests for a while at a shop after martial arts practice in Jinzhong City, North China’s Shanxi Province. Liu became interested in martial arts as a child, and learned from master Li Guichang at 21 years old. Liu said he is in good health and rarely gets sick, which he attributes to having practiced the sport for 50 years. Based on Xingyiquan, a type of martial arts known for its explosive power, Liu also created a new style by drawing from strengths of other schools of martial arts. Even at 72, he can perform stunning body movements that can be challenging for young people. Tired of urban life with its poor air quality, he moved from the city to live in a village, surrounded by lush trees, but his wife still mainly lives in the city. Liu said his dream is to visit a primitive land of peace and live for 100 years. (Photo: China News Service/Liu Jiang)
