Shortly after his state visit to China, Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull saw the first exhibition in Australia to focus on art of the Tang Dynasty (AD 618-907) at the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney on April 23, 2016. Turnbull said he was very glad to have the opportunity to appreciate artworks by ancient Chinese in Australia, which would deepen his understanding of the civilization.
Titled Tang: Treasures from the Silk Road Capital, the exhibition features a wondrous array of rare gold, silver and glass artifacts. There are also ceramics, sculptures and mural paintings from the Tang Dynasty, showing China's ancient Silk Road, a symbol of cross-culture exchange.
